Our approach

At Eve Psychiatry, we take an integrated approach to treatment—combining both medication management and therapy to support your mental health goals. All your visits with be with an MD- trained psychiatrist, ensuring you receive expert, physician led care at every step.

Your first visit is a comprehensive two-hour evaluation, during which we will review your medical and psychiatric history, examine any prior treatment records, and complete relevant psychiatric assessments and standardized scales. Based on this thorough evaluation, your psychiatrist will provide a diagnostic impression and collaborate with you to develop a personalized treatment plan, including both medication and therapy recommendations.

Follow-up appointments typically last about one hour and focus on monitoring progress, making treatment adjustments, and providing therapy.

We believe in a collaborative, evidence-based model—partnering with you at every visit to ensure your care is tailored, responsive, and grounded in clinical evidence.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why choose Eve Psychiatry for my mental health?

At Eve Psychiatry, we believe that the most effective mental health care goes beyond medication alone. While medication management can be highly effective, many patients experience greater and more lasting improvement when therapy is integrated into their treatment.

Eve Psychiatry was founded on this principle—to provide evidence-based care that combines both medication and therapy in a cohesive, personalized plan. Here, you’ll always work with the same MD-trained psychiatrist who is skilled in multiple therapy modalities. This continuity of care allows for a deeper understanding of your needs and a more comprehensive, effective treatment experience.

  2. What is the intro call with MD?

We offer a complimentary phone consultation with a physician to help you determine whether Eve Psychiatry is the right fit for your needs. This brief 5-10 minute conversation gives you the opportunity to ask questions, share your goals, and get a sense of our approach before committing to a full appointment. While entirely optional, many patients find it helpful in deciding how to move forward with care. You are always welcome to schedule directly if you prefer to begin treatment without a consultation.

  3. What is a therapy plan?

At Eve Psychiatry, therapy plans are personalized treatment strategies that integrate your unique values, interests, and goals with evidence-based therapeutic approaches. We draw from a range of proven modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—to create a tailored plan that fits your needs.

For example, a common challenge in anxiety disorders is avoidance of situations that trigger discomfort or shame. While avoidance may bring short-term relief, it often reinforces anxiety and interferes with long-term goals. In such cases, we may design a graded exposure therapy plan. This involves identifying the specific tasks or situations the patient is avoiding, rating the level of distress the tasks or situations provoke, and gradually introducing exposure exercises to reduce avoidance and build distress tolerance. These exercises are practiced between sessions, with progress tracked and exposures adjusted over time to promote meaningful, measurable improvement. This is just one of many therapy plans we offer to help you move toward lasting change and greater resilience.

  4. Why are visits at Eve Psychiatry longer than many other clinics?

At Eve Psychiatry, we intentionally offer longer appointments to provide comprehensive, high-quality care. Unlike many clinics where medication management visits are limited in time and therapy is handled separately, our sessions combine both services in one integrated visit with the same MD-trained psychiatrist.

We believe that accurate diagnosis, thoughtful treatment planning, and meaningful therapy require time. Our extended visits allow us to take a thorough history, formulate precise diagnostic impressions, and develop individualized therapy and medication plans. We also prioritize patient education—taking the time to explain the rationale behind each diagnosis and treatment decision—so you feel informed and empowered in your care.

To support these goals, initial evaluations are scheduled for two hours, and follow-up appointments are one hour. This commitment to time and attention helps us provide the best possible care to every patient.

  5. What if I only want medications or therapy- not both?

We understand that some patients may already be working with a therapist or psychiatrist elsewhere, or may prefer to focus on just one aspect of care. While we specialize in integrated treatment that combines therapy and medication, we also offer flexible options tailored to your individual needs.

Whether you’re seeking medication management only, therapy only, or a comprehensive approach, we’ll work with you to customize each visit accordingly. Unlike many clinics where services are rigidly divided, our model allows you to receive either or both treatments from the same MD-trained psychiatrist—ensuring continuity, convenience, and high-quality care.

  6. Do you take insurance?

Eve Psychiatry is currently an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance directly. However, we make it easy for patients to seek reimbursement by providing a detailed superbill after each visit. This document contains all the necessary information for you to submit a claim to your insurance company.

Most patients submit their claims through their insurance provider’s online portal—separate from Eve Psychiatry’s portal—but submissions can also be made by fax or mail, depending on your insurer’s process. Additionally, third-party services like  Reimbursify can assist with submitting claims and tracking reimbursements.

While many traditional clinics bill insurance directly, our out-of-network model allows us to offer longer, more personalized sessions and greater flexibility in care—without the time constraints often imposed by insurance-based systems.
